How To Write Comedy

My book "How To Write Comedy", published by Little, Brown, was cited by The Stage Newspaper as a training book of the year. It is a practical step-by-step guide to writing sketches, jokes and sitcoms, based on my twenty-year experience of writing comedy and eleven years of teaching it.

"It’s straightforwardly practical, there are plenty of suggestions for activities to try and Kirwood is good on advice for marketing your work and managing your life as a writer – especially when you have to deal with rejection."

Susan Elkin, The Stage
